Ok friends, truth be told I am not a body butter, lotion kind of woman. Honestly, I think it’s because I don’t like to get my hands greasy? I dunno, maybe. BUT, I am really feeling drawn to self care during this pregnancy.

For those of you that don’t know I’m expecting our third in July. So, I thought what better way to practice some self care during pregnancy than showing my bump some love with belly butter.

I borrowed this recipe from a great book by Melissa Poepping called “Chemical Free Home for Baby and Mommy“. It’s pretty simple but you’ll want to make sure you have all the ingredients ahead of time.

ingredients
o 1/2 cup coconut oil
o 1 TBS almond oil
instructions
Step 1- Whip coconut oil in a mixer or with a hand mixer until it’s nice and fluffy. While mixing add in the almond oil.
Step 2- Add in oils while continuing to whip the coconut oil.
Step 3- In a double boiler (or a glass bowl over a pot of boiling water) melt the cocoa butter.
Step 4- Slowly pour melted cocoa butter into the coconut oil while blending on high until combined.
Step 5- Scoop into a glass jar and place in the refridgerator until solid.
That’s it! You did it, now go lather that beautiful belly 🙂 Also, please please go HERE to learn about the importance of researching essential oils before putting them on your body. In case you didn’t know, they’re not all created equal!
XOXO,
Amanda
