These have been on my list for far too long, six months to be exact. Six months ago we added a mud room to our den (post coming soon, promise!) complete with pretty little baskets for out of sight shoes. But with a house full of boys I quickly realized those baskets needed some scent relief!
Our baskets have nice little handle cutouts so I tied the sachets right to the back but you could just drop them in the bottom of the basket. These are also great in drawers to freshen clothes, closets, the bottom of trash cans and even under the seats of your car!

What I love most about them is how easy they are to make, you probably already have everything you need at your house. I decided to use these simple organza bags that I had laying around from amazon but you could easily use any cotton or cloth bag and tie them with a piece of twine.
As an added touch I threw in some loose lavender buds because I had them laying around, but it’s totally optional!

materials-makes 5 sachets
1 cup uncooked white rice
Dried flowers (optional)
Cotton or Organza bags
how-to
Combine rice, dried flowers (if using) and 40-50 drops of essential oils in a bowl. If you’re using a combo of oils split them up evenly or to your preference.
Spoon rice mixture evenly into bags. Be sure to leave room at the top so the bag will close properly.
Place sachets in drawers or any place that needs refreshing. When you notice the scent is no longer as strong as you would like open the sachet and add more oils.
So there you have it a super simple way to keep your home naturally fresh!
XOXO- Amanda
