The Ultimate Labor and Delivery Prep

I for one am always looking for ways to prepare myself for labor and delivery. Especially if it could possibly decrease the time I’m in labor and help with recovery. Could it be as easy as Red Raspberry Leaf Tea?
Used for centuries to aid in labor and help women that experience symptoms leading up to and during their menstrual cycle, red raspberry leaf tea is a delicious way to support the female body. It is high in antioxidants as well as iron and is said to be ‘the woman’s herb’.

I’m in my third trimester of pregnancy right now and aim to drink 2-3 cups of it a day. While it’s delicious and slightly sweet on its own I am a woman that loves a little variation. So, I decided to shake it up and make this red raspberry leaf iced tea.
This recipe will cover me for the entire day (so double up if you don’t want to make it daily). For most people drinking 1-3 cups a day is suitable (less if you are in the first trimester).

One thing to keep in mind is RRLT may have diuretic or laxitive effects on some people. As always you should consult with your midwife or physician before starting anything new during pregnancy.
ingredients
3 tbsp Red Raspberry Leaf Tea
4 cups Filtered Water
2 tbsp Raw Honey
Juice of 1 Lemon
instructions
Boil water and pour over loose tea (you can also use a tea ball for this step). I like to use a large 32oz mason jar.
Strain loose tea from liquid and set tea aside. Add honey to jar or pitcher and pour your prepared tea liquid over top.
Let cool before adding lemon. Shake and store in the refridgerator. Serve chilled or over ice.
Enjoy!
XOXO- Amanda
